The water gushes up Sarah’s nose as she jumps into the ocean with a loud splatter. Her arms hit the water as she tries to make each stroke stronger than the last. However, she is already starting to fall behind in the race and the timer has only just sounded.

She quickly looks up to observe where her competition is and instantly regrets it. “Swoosh!” a huge wave crashes over her like a brick wall as she tries to catch her breath. She regains her strength and stays positive, kicking faster and using all the energy that she can generate.

Her legs and arms move in a synchronised motion as she overtakes the person directly in front of her. “I can do this” she thinks to herself as she continues to battle the ocean waves. Taking one last stroke she is overjoyed with emotion as she finishes in second place.
